  • Food for Students Surpasses Half a Million Meals Delivered

    In the past six months, Food for Students has developed into a highly networked and tremendously successful outreach program that provides meals for hundredsFood is currently delivered to 37 sites, with a series of exciting summer enrichment events now in the books.   • PSF Teacher Supply Store Succeeds in New Format

    Every August, one of the great kickoff traditions in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is the Teacher Supply Store presented by the Public School Foundation and East Chapel Hill Rotary Club. Started in 2007 as an annual event, the goal has always been to defray some of the costs of materials teachers need to start the school year, much of which comes out of their own pockets.

  • CHCCS Distributes Over 11,600 Device to Students

    Before the start of the 2020-21 school year, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools committed to providing the newest district technology devices to all students, K-12, with provisions for internet connectivity to those who need it. From August 10 through August 19, every school hosted drive-through distribution events outdoors, relying on both staff and volunteers to manage the process each day.

  • Glenwood Graduates Receive Messages from CHCCS Graduates

    Until this year, the fifth grade graduates at Glenwood Elementary School (GES) embraced a cherished tradition of welcoming back former Gators who are preparing to graduate from high school. The GES alumni would arrive in their caps and gowns and when everyone had gathered, they led the current fifth graders through the hallways to the gym for the graduation ceremony.
