Interfaith Council for Social Services also offers food support and other help.

If you live with or know an older adult who needs help with food Meals on Wheels may be able to help them.

If you have a rising 6th grader, contact the middle school to ask about what programs they have and the Y offers after school for middle school too.

The Child Care Services Association may also be able to assist you with finding childcare and you can ask them about financial help for child care as well.

The Orange County Department of Social Services is another agency you can call to ask for help with childcare. You can also call 919-245-2800 and ask for the daycare worker on call.
Housing:
Emergency Housing Assistance Program: Helps Orange County residents in housing crisis by providing one-time financial assistance. Learn more here. To apply, contact the Housing Helpline at 919-245-2655 or housinghelp@orangecountync.gov. A program of Orange County and the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough.
Imagination Library:
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children across the world. We partner with local communities to provide a hand-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality book each month to registered children from birth to age five.
Smart Start and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library are working together to get books into the hands of North Carolina’s youngest children that live in Orange County!
Register your child aged from birth to five to receive a FREE high-quality and age-appropriate book delivered to your house every month! :

- OR, download and print this, fill it out, and mail it to the Orange County Partnership for Young Children at 402 Millstone Drive, Suite 300, Hillsborough NC 27278.
Please note: To ensure the successful delivery of books, make certain your child is registered with your address. Be sure the address is correct and the email address you provided is valid in case we need to contact you with questions regarding your child’s registration.
