PBIS and Behavior Support at Ephesus
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.
PBIS is a broad range of systemic & individualized strategies for achieving important social & learning outcomes while preventing problem behavior with all students. It is focused on standardizing expectations school wide, defining rules in positive terms for common spaces, and specifically teaching the rules and expectations. It is a system of recognizing students and staff who meet those expectations. The idea behind PBIS is that we need to teach students what we expect and how to behave just like we teach them to read and to do math.
