What is Service Learning?
Service Learning is a teaching-learning method that connects meaningful community service experiences with academic learning, personal growth, and civic responsibility. Students who graduate from high school in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools District must fulfill a Service Learning requirement. The purpose of Service Learning is to provide students the opportunity to have a positive impact on our local community. Service Learning allows students to expand their horizons and foster meaningful relationships with others in their community.
CHCCS uses a service learning-management system called LetServe which allows students to log their Service Learning Hours on a computer or from a smartphone. Each student has been set up with a LetServe Account.
